Four Pressure Units
Read pressure in the format your workshop uses: PSI means pounds-force per square inch; BAR is bar; MPA is megapascal (MPa); KPA is kilopascal (kPa). All four describe pressure. Switching the display unit does not regulate the output pressure.

Easy-to-wipe metal buttons help reduce oil and grime buildup around the controls. Use the carry handle or supplied hook to position the tester conveniently near the vehicle. Built-in overheat protection stops the entire machine if overheating occurs and automatically resumes operation after cooling.
Trace Hidden Leaks
Use SD505 for intake leak testing, vacuum leak inspection and compatible vehicle pipework checks under the applicable service procedure. Visible smoke helps direct attention to unintended openings around hoses, fittings and seals, supporting a more focused inspection before repair decisions. For EVAP leak testing and other pressure-sensitive circuits, confirm the required setup and permitted test pressure. The 18-23psi catalog output-pressure value is not a universal vehicle test setting.

Prepare for the Next Test
Use recommended baby oil (BB oil): 20ml for first use, then refill with 30ml only after the previous oil has been used up. Do not exceed the 30ml maximum capacity. Smoke normally begins in approximately 10 seconds after activation; this is startup time, not a promised diagnosis time. Follow the model instructions for preparation, DC12V input connection and operation.
