Product Overview
The SOLARY 9800D digital spot welder dent puller is designed for dent repair on steel vehicle doors and body panels. Its MCU-controlled digital panel lets technicians select a function and adjust welding power and time for the repair task. The standard accessory kit includes carbon rods, welding electrodes and needles, wavy wire, star and round washers, pull hooks, a pull-rod connector, short and long pulling rods, a seven-claw pulling hook, a manual suction disc, a magnetic accessory and an empty accessory box. These accessories support different welding, heating and pulling tasks; see the complete quantities below.
Material compatibility: For iron/steel vehicle body panels only. Not suitable for aluminum body panels.
Five Key Benefits
- Set power and welding time at the panel: Dedicated adjustment controls allow the operator to configure the welding process instead of relying on one setting for every repair.
- Choose automatic or manual welding mode: The panel has mode indicators and a switching key. Both modes require an operator to select settings, position the tool and carry out the repair.
- Pull localized dents with the included slide hammer: Weld a suitable pulling attachment to the prepared panel and use the slide hammer to work the damaged area.
- Work along elongated dents with multi-point pulling: Weld wavy wire along the repair area and connect the included multi-claw tool to several attachment points.
- Combine attachment welding and heating: Washer welding, stud welding, carbon rod heating and heating/flattening functions support different stages of steel panel repair. Thermal protection and an overheat indicator assist with heat management.
Applications: Vehicle Doors and Steel Body Panels
The 9800D is intended for automotive body repair shops working on dents in steel doors and other steel body panels. Accessory selection depends on the shape and location of the damage: a slide hammer provides localized pulling, while wavy wire and the multi-claw attachment provide several pulling connections along an elongated dent.
SOLARY’s operation demonstration shows panel surface preparation, connection of the earth clamp, adjustment at the digital panel, attachment welding and manual pulling. Repair results depend on panel condition, appropriate settings and the technician’s repair procedure.
Digital Controls and Welding Functions
The front panel includes function selection, power adjustment, welding-time adjustment, automatic/manual mode indicators and an overheat indicator. The 9800D has a continuously adjustable output and a specified welding-current range of 1000–4200A.
Supported functions include washer welding, stud welding, carbon rod heating and heating/flattening. The supplied product materials also demonstrate round-washer and star-washer welding. Automatic mode does not mean automatic dent removal: setting, tool positioning and pulling remain operator tasks.

Typical Repair Workflow
- Identify the panel material and damage. Use the 9800D only on suitable iron/steel body panels, following the vehicle manufacturer’s repair procedure.
- Prepare the welding area by removing the coating at the required contact points and connect the earth clamp as instructed in the machine manual.
- Select the function, electrode and attachment. Set welding power and time for the panel and operation.
- Weld the selected pulling attachment. Choose the slide hammer for localized pulling, or wavy wire with the multi-claw tool for multiple pulling points.
- Carry out pulling manually and inspect the panel as the repair progresses. Complete subsequent panel finishing according to the repair procedure.
Refer to the operating instructions for settings and handling. Illustrated welding times are reference values, not universal settings for all panels.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the 9800D repair aluminum body panels?
No. The 9800D is for iron/steel vehicle body panels only and is not suitable for aluminum panel repair.
Which parts of a vehicle can it be used on?
It is used for dent repair on steel doors and other steel body panels. Confirm the panel material and applicable vehicle repair procedure before use.
Does automatic mode remove the need for an operator?
No. The panel supports automatic and manual welding modes, but the operator still selects the function, sets welding power and time, positions the tool and performs the pulling operation.
Are the slide hammer and multi-claw tool included?
Yes. They are part of the full standard accessory kit, which also includes the electrodes, carbon rods, wavy wire, washers, hooks, connectors, suction disc, magnetic accessory and empty accessory box listed above. The slide hammer supports localized pulling, while the multi-claw tool connects to wavy wire for multi-point pulling. The tool cart is optional.
Does the machine support washer and stud welding?
Yes. Washer and stud welding are supported. Carbon rod heating and heating/flattening provide additional panel-working functions.
What power supply does the 9800D require?
The rated input voltage is 230V. Its maximum instantaneous power is 15kVA; this is a peak specification, not a continuous power-consumption figure.
Does every repair use the same welding settings?
No. Welding power and time are adjustable. Select settings for the actual panel, attachment and operation according to the machine instructions and repair procedure.
